Ailemden bana kalan yüzlerce fotoğraf, kişisel niteliklerinin ötesinde Türkiye’nin yakın geçmişinin bir parçasını oluşturuyor. Sayısız diğer hayattan ne daha ayrıcalıklı ne de daha üstünler. Bu notları kaleme alırken, bu fotoğraflarla kimin ilgilenebileceğini kestiremiyorum. Belki gelecekte tarihçilere, sosyologlara veya fotoğraf araştırmacılarına yararı dokunabilir.

The hundreds of photographs passed down to me by my family form a piece of Turkey’s recent history, moving far beyond their personal nature. They are neither more privileged nor superior to countless other lives. As I pen these notes, I cannot predict who might be interested in these photographs. Perhaps in the future, they could be of use to historians, sociologists, or photography researchers.
